Long Horn Days!

For those of you who do not know about Long Horn days. It is a Celebration for the town of Altamont and they have activities all week long. Usually it is the week of the 24th of July.

Long Horn days started off on Monday with the bike race. We had cousins (CJ, Stetson and Colton)and friends (Parker, Cooper and Riley Rust) in the race so we decided to go and watch.
Kyler and Ryzer were a little intimidated, they don't ride there bikes that often.

Then they had a family fun night at the park. They had a ton of those blow up bouncy slides and houses.
Kyler jumped so hard he almost fell off the side. Talk about giving me a heart attack. Ryzer loves this kind of stuff. He is my Dare Devil!

I think Molly felt a little safer in the bouncy houses. Even though it took her awhile to get use to it and like it.


They also had face painting, Kyler and Ryzer both got snakes that crawled across their noses.



Molly and Katelyn (a cousin) got flowers.

Then they had a animal chase (and of coarse.... I forget the camera) Molly caught a little white rabbit.

The boys didn't catch anything, but they were pretty satisfied with one little bunny. (So am I) I think the kids have named IT(don't know if it is a boy or girl) "Hunny the bunny"

Then on Wednesday they had a volleyball tournament that me Brant and I participated in with our friends AC and Sandi Rust, and Bear and Stephanie Chamberlain. (also forgot the camera) We had a lot of fun. It started at 6:00 PM and we left at 12:30 AM. Only cause we got eliminated...which was fine by us. We were all worn out and tired.

Saturday was the big PARADE day. My kids couldn't stop asking me when he parade came cause they got to ride in the back of the fire truck Brant drove.

Brant had a blast with the water. Him and James (his brother) figured out how to pull the fire hose threw the fire truck so he could spray everyone watching the parade.
Molly also loved being in the fire truck. At first she was mad at me cause I wouldn't let her ride on the top of the truck with the other kids, but by the time the parade had started she was loving every minute ot it.

Then all the men in the Monsen family went to the fire station to help Rudy put the firework trailer together for the big firework show for the end of the celebration.

My kids and Lachlan (a nephew) were patiently waiting for the show to begin.

My Mom, Dad,(Nana and Papa) and my brother Patrick got there right when the first firework went off.

Molly was a little scared sitting that close, so I really don't know if she fell asleep or if she was just closing her eyes.

Brant went and sat on a fire truck in case they needed to go put out any fires.

We all enjoyed those fireworks.

Dani and Lachlan did too!
